Beck III, who won the individual state 4-A title and was named to 1st team All State and will enroll at Rice University at the end of this month. 2011 has had a very successful golf season for the Beck family. Congratulations to Joe Beck III and good luck at Rice.
The heat and wind contributed to the difficulty of the Austin Country Club Pete Dye design by making club selection difficult in the gusty winds and adding a fatigue factor to play. The golf course was in excellent condition and congratulations are in order for the ACC golf course superintendent Bobby Stringer. The extended summer heat has added significant challenges to golf course maintenance. Thanks to the members of Austin Country Club for the use of their wonderful golf course and facilities.
