Westlake Girls Advance to State

The 2012 UIL Region II Golf Tournament concluded on Wednesday with the Woodlands #1 Team and the Westlake #1 team advancing to the state tournament at the end of the month. The competition was held at Cottonwood Creek in Waco, Texas.

Cheyenne Knight of the Woodlands captured the medalist honors with rounds of 72-69 for a total of 139.   Sierra Sims of Westlake finished 2nd with a 147 total after rounds of 72-75.  Westwood's Christine Lin shot 74-74=148 to finish in 3rd and capture a spot in the state tournament.
