Joe Bendetti shot two under par 70 on the Blue Course of Dallas Athletic Club Friday in the first round of the Texas Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship and is tied for 9th place. His 70 was the lowest score of the Austin contingent playing in the mid-am championship. Drew Bell and Grady Bruce shot 73 while Manny Bhakta posted 74.
