After the first round of the Region II 5A UIL Boys Golf Championship, Lake Travis is in second place, four shots behind Conroe-The Woodlands A team. Westlake is in fifth, 11 shots behind the leader and seven behind Lake Travis.
Austin Cotton, from Westwood high school, is in second place in the individual scoring race, having posted a first round even par 72 on the 7,123 yard Twin Rivers Course in Waco Texas.
High winds made scoring difficult for the entire field. Play concludes Tuesday with the top two teams advancing to the state playoffs in Austin.
