Hannon Cup Association Donates $5000 To Austin Junior Golf Academy

The Hannon Cup Association continued it's support of the Austin Junior Golf Academy by presenting them with a check for $5000.  Originally founded by George Hannon, Lloyd Morrison and Joe Balendar, the AJGA has been administered by the Austin Parks and Recreation Golf Department for several decades.

Shown here are Jimmy Olivares, Guy Liljenwall, Steve Hammond, Jack Chavarria and Billy Clagett.  Clagett and Greg Messerole were the members of the Hannon Cup Association steering committee that presented the check to Steve Hammond, representing the Austin PARD.

Each summer, Austin youth have the pleasure of attending the academy and learning more about the great game of golf.  PARD golfing personnel staff the academy and are complemented by a group of volunteers from the community.  Click here to see some of the activities from the 2013 junior golf academy and learn more about how it is supported and who benefits.  It is truly a great opportunity for these young golfers.

Along with their support of The Austin Junior Golf Academy The Hannon Cup Association supports the South Texas PGA George Hannon Scholarship, the George Hannon Junior Invitational and the Hannon Cup Matches.  Learn more about the 2013 STPGA George Hannon Scholarship recipients, how to apply for a scholarship and  Hannon Cup Association here.
