The Texas Golf Association’s final competitive event of each season is called the Texas Shootout. It is a Ryder Cup competition between the North and South sections of the TGA. Team members are selected based on their accumulation of TGA performance points throughout the season.
Brian Noonan played for the victorius South team. His third place finish in the Texas Mid-Amateur along with his play in the state amateur helped him qualify for the event. He was the only player from Austin to make the south team.
