Neisy McDonald shot two under par 70 to grab a one shot lead over defending champion Haley Haught after the first round of the Austin Women’s Championship at Morris Williams Golf Course. McDonald had two birdies and a bogey on the front along with one birdie on the back for her two under total.

Haught combined four birdies and three bogeys on the front nine for 35 to go with two bogeys and two birdies on the back nine for 36 and a 71 total. Haught is a graduate of Westlake High School and play for St. Edwards University as a senior.
Nancy Kromar leads the senior division with a first round 74.
