Alden, Cowart Tied for Lead in City Championship

Jonathan Alden and Jordan Cowart both shot 67 at Lions Municipal to take the lead in the Austin Men's City Championship at four under par. 

Drew Bell, winner of the Central Texas Amateur Championship two weeks ago, continued his fine play with a 68 at Lions. Steve Trafton, former winner of the City Championship shot 68 at Lions where Price Ferchill and Mike Bertram recorded 69.

Aaron Kaiser lead the scoring at Morris Williams with a 69, followed by Kody King and Blake Stasiunas, who posted 70.  Jeff Shell and Peter McGibney posted 71 at Morris Williams.

The scoring average for the field at Lions Municipal was 76.66 while the scoring average at Morris Williams was 79.23.  Morris Williams played longer than normal with additional tees added to increase the length of the course.  The par threes played the most difficult of all the holes relative to par.  Number 3, from the back tee at 215 yards, averaged .78 strokes above par, while number 14, another 215 yard shot, averaged .72 strokes above par.
