UT Men’s Golf Team Goes for 5th Straight Victory in Puerto Rico

Currently ranked as the number one men's collegiate team, the University of Texas Men's Golf Team will attempt to win it's fifth consecutive collegiate golf tournament at the Purdue/Puerto Rico Invitational.  The three round tournament begins Sunday, February 19th and concludes on Tuesday February 21.  It is being played on the River Course at Rio Mar Country Club in the northeast region of Puerto Rico.

Longhorn Freshman Jordan Spieth, two-time winner of the U.S. Junior title and three time winner of the Texas State 5-A High School Championship is currently ranked number 1 in the GolfWeek individual standings.  Longhorn Senior Dylan Fritelli is currently ranked 2nd in the individual standings. Julio Vegas is ranked 25th and Tony Hakula is ranked 31st.

The field includes Alabama, Clemson, E. Tennessee State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, North Carolina, N.C. State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Texas, UNCG, and Virginia Tech.   Georgia Tech is currently ranked 7th, Alabama 8th, Clemson 16th, Ohio State 24th, and Purdue 40th in the GolfWeek Collegiate Rankings.  See all the rankings at the following link.
