Lake Travis Boys Lead 4A State Championship, Girls in Third Place

4A Boys Competition

Austin Lake Travis Boys posted a team score of 300 at the par 72 Jimmy Clay Golf Course on Monday to take a slim lead in the State 4A Golf Championship Tournament. 

The Northwest Nelson squad is one shot behind at 301, Dallas Highland Park and Champion Borne are two strokes behind at 302, and Montgomery is five behind at 305.   It's still anyone's championship to claim.  Dillon Van Essen lead the Lake Travis effort with 72, followed by Klein Klotz at 74, Andrew Liu at 75, and Joey Hearn at 79. 

Scottie Scheffler of Highland Park has the individual lead at four under par 68.

Conditions were difficult as the wind blew a steady 15 mph with some gusts to 20 mph.

4A Girls Competition

The Lake Travis Girls team posted 315 and are five shots behind the girls powerhouse of Montgomery, who posted 310.  Ann Parmeter lead the Lake Travis Girls effort with 76, followed by Emily Gillman and Stella Kang with 79, Courtney Ford with 81 and Cristen Miller with 82.
