Harvey Penick Invitational Set To Go Friday-Sunday

The 75th Harvey Penick Invitational is being held Friday – Sunday of this week.  Named after the famed golf instructor and former golf coach at the University of Texas, the tournament has a strong tradition and attracks a quality field.

In the field this year are entrants from 17 states that include:
  •  Two past USGA champions and one runner-up
  • Recent qualifiers for the U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, U.S. Public Links, U.S. State Team, U.S. Senior Open, and U.S. Senior Amateur.   
  • Current or past state champions of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Oklahoma; mid-amateur champions of Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma; and senior or mid-senior champions of Texas, Arizona, California, and Florida.

The mid-amateur field has an average handicap of +1.3, while the senior field has an average handicap of 0.3.
