Rudy’s I-35 Cup Matches November 2-4

The Fourth Rudy's I-35 Cup Matches will be held at Cimarron Golf Club in Georgetown Saturday and Sunday November 3-4.  Prior to the formal matches, the Rivalary before the Matches will be held at Onion Creek Golf Club on Friday November 2nd. The opening cerimonies will be held at Onion Creek and Troy Matteson, currently ranked 74th on the PGA money list, will be the guest speaker. 

The Rudy's I-35 Cup Matches have raised approximately $162,000 for Habitat for Humanity and the First Tee of San Antonio over it's three year history due to the efforts of Austin Amateur Golf and Golf San Antonio.  Randy Reynolds of Austin Amateur Golf and Pat McMahan of Golf San Antonio have been the driving forces behind this event and are due a great deal of credit for their tireless efforts at organizing this event.  The benefits of these efforts are significant to the charities involved and the players enjoy the competiton between Austin and San Antonio. 

San Antonio holds a 3-0 lead in the series and is fielding another strong team which includes Adam Lowe, the current San Antonio Men's City Champion, Bobby Baugh, the current San Antonio Men's Senior Champion,  Harry Rameriz, who reached the quarterfinals in the U.S. Senior Amateur in 2012, as well as Chuck Ellenwood, who finished 2nd in the Senior Division of the 2012 Harvey Penick Invitational.  Ellenwood and John Stark partnered to win the 2012 Texas Golf Association Senior Amateur Partnership.

Austin's Team will include Brian Noonan, the 2012 Men's City Champion, Kody King, who leads the Austin Amateur Golf Rankings Mid-Am Division and won the 2012 Chester Cup, Manny Bhakta who won the 2012 Horseshoe Bay Invitational, Mike Allen the current Austin Men's Senior Champion, Mark Baldree who won the 2012 Bluebonnet Cup and the other leading players in Austin, who qualified for this event via the Austin Amateur Golf Point Rankings.
