Perrine and Niblett Qualify for U.S. Junior Amateur

Austinites Mathew Perrine and Tobin Niblett have qualified to play in the U. S. Junior Amateur Championship to be held at the Martis Camp Club in Truckee, California July 22-27.  Perrine shot 70-68, a four under par total,  to win medalist honors at the 36 hole qualifier at Vaquero Club in Westlake, Texas.  Niblett shot 71-70 to finish in third.  Only the top four players from the field of 70 players will advance the the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. Perrine, show here with his friend and caddy Weymon Hopke, has been playing well lately, having recently finished third in a American Junior Golf Association event in Alabama where he posted a seven under par total over 54 holes.  Perrine will be a senior at Westlake High School in the Fall. He has signed a letter of intent to play golf at Auburn University.  Hopke, a former Westlake player, just  finished his first year at Furman University, where he plays on the golf team.
