The Central Texas Women's Amateur was held at Avery Ranch Golf Club in mid -July.

Marian Barker (from Lubbock), was able to defend her title for the third year in a row, posting 138 (67-71) for her two day total.  Julia Beck shot an amazing 32 on the back nine on Sunday, and in the end finished one back of the leader with 139 (67-72).  Finishing in third place was Stacy Dennis with a two day total of 149 (76-73).

Other notable local players in the Championship Flight:  Beth Cleckler tied for 5th with 152 (71-81), Nancy Kromar finished in a tie for 8th with 154 (78-76), Camille Clay was alone in 14th place with 156 (77-79) and Abby Fernandez scored 158 (77-81) to finish in a tie for 16th.

This is the first year we filled the field with 72 players and the 3rd consecutive year that Avery Ranch has hosted the event.  The Women's Texas Golf Association (WTGA) includes the Central Texas Women's Amateur among the events that count toward USGA State Team points, so this event is now considered one of a few major women's amateur events in Texas.
