Noonan and Kearney Extend Leads At Harvey Penick

Brian Noonan shot a second consecutive 67 to post a ten under par total of 134 after 36 holes of the 76th Harvey Penick Invitational and stretch his lead to eight shots in the Mid-Amateur Division headed into the final round.  Derick Meinhart is in second place at two under par and Matt Werneke of Austin is in third at one under par.

Bob Kearney, the first round leader in the senior division with a 68, posted 71 and go to four under par after 36 holes, good for a three shot lead over Hunter Nelson.  Both Kearney and Nelson are from the Houston area and have had very successful amateur career.  Kearney, a former winner of the Texas State Amateur and Miid Amateur titles has an impressive resume but so does Hunter Nelson.  Nelson has qualified and participated in the U.S. Senior Open in two of the last three years and is a consistent contender in state senior competitions.
