Bhakta turned in two under par on the front nine and despite his only bogey of the day on the par five 11th, recorded an even par 36 on the back nine to post 70.  Noonan turned in 36 after a birdie on #9, then added birdies on 10 and 11 to get to two under par.  He bogeyed 12 then recorded all pars to post 71. Carter turned in 36 then birdied 11 and made all pars from there to the house.

The golf course has suffered from a short growing season after last year’s redesign along with heavy play through the summer then a brutal winter resulting in greens that have not yet had a chance to grow this year.  The result was spotty grass on the firm greens resulting in difficult scoring conditions.

Bubba Sykes leads the first flight at +6 and Jerry Frantz leads the second flight.

Play resumes tomorrow if the weather cooperates.  Scores, tee times and full tournament information is available at the above link or on the free Golf Austin app for Iphones and android devices.
