Winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship has qualified Austin’s Kristen Gillman to play in number of prestigious events. Along with Allison Lee and Emma Talley, Gillman is currently representing the United States in the Women’s World Team Championship, being played in Karuzawa, Japan. Following the Women’s World Team Championship, she will compete in the Evian Masters and then represent team USA in the Junior Ryder Cup Matches in Scotland.
That is pretty heady stuff for a 16 year old Lake Travis Golfer.
After two rounds of the World Women’s Team Championship, the U.S. is in 10th place. Gillman recorded 74-70 and is at even par.
