Earlier, we reported that Brian Noonan and Riley Pumphrey were the only two Austin golfers participating in the USGA Amateur Four Ball Tournament. Although they were the only team from Austin, Greg Smith, former golf professional in the Austin area who is now playing as an amateur, qualified for the Four Ball with a partner from Dallas.
Greg is a well known and liked member of the Austin golfing community and we apologize for our oversight. Thanks to Josh Swanson for calling our attention to this information.
Although Greg and his partner did not make the match play portion of the tournament, it is certain they enjoyed the experience of playing in a USGA event.
