Boy and girl golfers from under eight years of age up to 18 years of age teed it up in the 2015 George Hannon Junior Golf tournament at Morris Williams.
The format for the tournament varied among age groups and included a six hole tournament for the youngest players, nine hole tournaments for slightly older players and an 18 hole tournament for the older players.
The George Hannon Junior tournament is one of a series of junior tournaments offered by the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Golf Department during the course of the summer. This summer junior golfer program provides local youth an opportunity to compete in golf tournaments without having to spend the time and money to travel to distant locations to participate in junior golf tours such as the Texas Legends Junior Tour, American Junior Golf Association Tour and many others. There were some excellent scores recorded during play on Wednesday. The low round of the tournament, a six under par 66, was recorded Holt Miller who played in the Boys 13-15 division. There was also a 68 recorded in the boys 16-18 division.
