Three players who listed Austin as their hometown will advance to the U.S. Open Sectional qualifier on June 8th at Northwood Country Club in Dallas, Texas.
Matthew Henson, Brian Noonan and Scott Kelly won three of the four qualifying spots in the local qualifier held this past week at Onion Creek Country Club in Austin. Henson and Kelly are professionals playing on the Adams Pro Tour.
Matthew Henson led the scoring with a three under par 67.

Noonan, who shot two under par 68 is well known in Austin golfing circles by virtue of playing high school golf in Austin, winning the Men’s City Championship three times along with the Firecracker Open and the Harvey Penick Invitational.
Scott Kelly advanced by shooting 70, along with two other players.
Players battled rain over two days of play to complete the qualifier. Difficult pin locations and soggy conditions made scoring difficult on the par 70 golf course.
