Dylan Frittelli's 4 under par round led the Longhorns to a tie for 2nd place with a team total of 287, one under par, in the first round of competition at the NCAA West Regional Golf Tournament. Cody Gribble's two under par round of 70 combined with Bobby Hudson's one over round and a score of 76 from both Julio Vegas and Toni Hukula for the team total.
The Longhorns share second with UCLA. USC is in the lead at 10 under par. North Texas is six shots behind the Longhorns and San Diego state is in 5th place.
Second round action takes place today at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Sante Fe, California, just outside of San Diego.
