UT Men Tied for 5th at NCAA West Regional Tournament

The UT Mens Golf Team posted a 2nd round team total of 297 in the second round of the NCAA West Regional Tournament and are in a tie for 5th place headed into the final round of the tournament on Saturday.

The leader, USC posted a team total of 290 on the second day and are at 568 for the two day total, which is 8 under par. They lead UCLA by four shots, Ohio State by 11 shots, SMU by 15, with Texas and San Deigo State 16 shots back.  Middle Tennessee State is one behind Texas with four teams within three shots of the Longhorns. 

The top five teams advance from the regional tournament to the national championship in early June.

Dykan Fritelli is tied for 3rd indivudually posting 68-73=141 and is five shots behind the leader Patrick Cantlay who is 8 under par through two rounds.
