Michael Smith in Final Match for Texas Public Links Championship

Michael Smith of  Cedar Park will face Justin McKay of Crosby in the final match for the Texas Public Links Championship at Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.  Qualifying for match play with a 69 led to matches in the round of 32, 16, then the quarterfinals, the semi-finals and now into the finals. The title is now within reach.  The final match begins Sunday morning at 7:30.

Smith, who will  be senior at Stephen F. Austin in the fall has been a consistent contender in Austin area tournaments over the last several years and there will be lots of Austinites hoping for the best.  It should be a good match.
