Michael Smith of Cedar Park defeated Justin McKay of Crosby Texas 3 & 2 in the final match of the 2011 Texas State Public Links Champiionship. See the scorecard of the match here.
Smith won the first two holes with a birdie and a par and then won holes 5 and 6 with another birdie on 5 and a par on 6. He made the turn 3 up and extended his lead to 4 up after 11 holes. The match ended on hole 15 when Smith birdied the par three hole.
The Public Links tournament was played at historic Brackenridge Park in San Antonio. The golf course was remodeled in refurbished in 2009 and has received glowing reviews from all the players.
