Stratton Nolen to Compete in 64th USGA Junior Amateur

Stratton Nolen will be the sole representative from Austin when he competes in the 64th USGA Junior Amateur Championship in Bremerton Washington.  Stratton and the Nolen family leave Thursday night to begin preparations at the tournament site, which will include practice rounds over the weekend.  

The opening ceremony and dinner on the aircraft carrier USS John Stennis Sunday night feature Johnny Miller as the keynote speaker.  Monday, stroke play begins.  Following 36 holes of stroke play, the field is cut to 64 players and match play begins through the championship.  You can follow the scores and action at on the USGA website. For those readers that are unfamiliar with this competition, it is the national title for juniors.  Qualifying for the event is an accomplishment.  Congratulations to Stratton for the accomplishment and good luck in the tournament.
