Rox Covert captured the Harvey Penick Invitational in 1965 and 1978 as well as the Aqua Festival Golf Championship. This native Austinite has truly been an all-around athelete and as a result took up golf somewhat at later in life than most low handicap players.
At Austin High School, he played baseball and was part of the 1958 State Championship baseball team as well as playing quarterback on the football team.
