Texas Leads at Morris Williams Intercollegiate

The University of Texas Men's Golf Team shot seven under par at the UT Golf Club at Steiner Ranch and established a six stroke lead over second place New Mexico after 36 holes of play at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate Golf Championship.  Texas A&M is in third at three over par and TCU is fourth at 5 over par.  For the full field scores go to GolfStat.

The individual lead is held by Geoff Shaw of Texas A&M, who fired 65-71 for a six under par total.  His teammate Cameron Peck is second at four under par.   Longhorns Alex Moon, Jordan Spieth, and Julio Vegas are tied for third at three under.  Dylan Fritelli and Cody Gribble are at two under par.   Playing conditions were fairly challenging with winds in the 15 mph range most of the day and occasional higher gusts. 

The Longhorns are currently ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek college rankings,  slightly ahead of Auburn.
