The Westlake Boys Golf Team captured the first round lead of the 2012 UIL Region II 5A Golf Tournament, being held at Twin Rivers Golf Course in Waco, Texas. Monday's play resulted in Westlake posting a team total of 292, followed closely by Woodlands II with 296, Woodlands I with 301, and Austin High with 305.
The individual leader was Chris Reina of Woodlands II, who posted 68, followed by Andrew Ertel of Woodlands I and Alex Levy of Austin High, who both posted 69. Max Miller of A&M Consolidated's 70 was the only other sub-par round posted.
Play concludes today (Tuesday). The top two team in regional play advance to the state playoffs later this month in Austin.
