A severe wind and hailstorm pummeled Lakewood Country Club in Dallas and inflicted significant damage to the course. As a result, the 2012 Texas Amateur Champmionship has been moved to the Honors Club, located at 2525 Country Club Drive, Carrollton, Texas. The championship was originally scheduled to be 72 holes of stroke play but has been shortened to 54 holes.
The tournament, originally scheduled to start on Thursday June 14th, will begin on Friday instead. Players are playing a practice round on Thursday at the Honors course. The field will be cut to the low 54 and ties after 36 holes. Read more and see the photos at the Texas Golf Association website.
