Keith Lundquist and Matt Riley Lead Chester Cup

Keith Lundquist got off to a fast start with birdies on holes two, three and four then added a bogey to turn in two under 33.  On the back nine he combined three birdies, a bogey and a double to shoot even par 36 and post 69.  Matt Riley made three birdies on the front with no bogies and then shot 37 to finish at 69. Steve Paterson posted the only even par 71, while Manny Bhakta and Drew Bell posted 72. A large group of players are at 74.

Chester Burks, for whom the tournament is named, worked at Great Hills Country Club for years and the members hold this tournament in his honor.  Burks, pictured here on the left with long time member of Great Hills, Roger Bailey, watched the players throughout the first round.  Roger Bailey is shown here hitting his lay up second shot on the par five 15th.
