Achillies and Noonan Finish In Top Ten At Texas Mid-Am, King 12th

Jerry Achilles of Round Rock and Brian Noonan of Austin finished in the top ten at the Texas Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship held at Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, Texas.  Achilles, shown above,  finished four over for the championship.  Noonan, who posted a two under  70 in the final round was a shot behind Achilles at five over par.  

Other Austinites: Kody King finished T12, Barrett Sandefur T22, Robert Evans T28, Matt Wernecke T31 and Manny Bhakta T41.  The full field scores are shown below. 

The top 20 finishers earned exemptions into the 2014 Texas Mid-Amateur Championship.

Weather complicated the competition as storms moved through the area over the weekend and delayed play.  Golf course conditions during the first two days were difficult with wind and fast fairways.  The third round provided better scoring conditions after some rain and the absence of wind.   Scores reflected the improved conditions on Sunday.
