The University of Texas Men’s Golf Team shot five over par in the first round of the NCAA Division One Auburn Regional Golf Tournament and is currently in second place, six shots behind Alabama.
The Longhorns have a one shot lead over Auburn and are two shots ahead of Colorado headed into the second round. Beau Hossler led the Longhorn scoring with 71, good for a T4 in the individual race.
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
The finals will be conducted May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. Wichita State is the host institution for the 2014 championships.
