Three Austin Juniors will participate in the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior Invitational this weekend at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Kristin Gillman, Matthew Perrine and Cooper Dossey earned invitations by virtue of their standings in the Polo Junior Golf Rankings. The Polo Junior Golf Rankings was created by AJGA to identify and rank the top Junior players who have competed in the premier Junior golf tournaments in the United States. Gillman is ranked #8 for girls 18 & under, Perrine is ranked #32 for boys 18 & under with Dossey ranked #37.
48 boys and 30 girls will challenge for titles in one of the best fields of international players for the year. The tournament founders’ vision is to provide a world class competition with unparalleled hospitality, thus creating the ultimate “Players” event.
Perrine was a member of the Westlake 5A State Championship team and won the Individual title. Dossey played for the Vandegrift 4A State Champs and finished in 3rd place individually. Gillman finished 2nd individually in the 5A Girls State tourney as a member of the 2nd place Lake Travis team.
