Kim Noonan shot 73 on Friday July 25th, to win the Houston Qualifier for the U.S. Women’s Mid Amateur Championship by six shots. She has played in four USGA events including two U.S. Women’s Amateurs, one U.S. Junior Amateur and this will be her second U.S. Mid Am. During the course of the round she holed out for a birdie from 75 yards on the 14th hole from deep rough. Overall her play was steady with three bogeys and two birdies.
Anna Morales, also from Austin qualified as well, posting 81. There were five spots available for 13 entrants. Morales, the current Austin Country Club Champion, has qualified for the U.S. Women’s Mid-Am multiple times and is looking forward to returning to the event, which will be held at Harbor Trees Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana September 6-11.
