Steve Paterson, fresh off a win at the Central Texas Amateur, fired a 67 at Morris Williams to grab the first round lead of the Men’s City Championship. Shown here (left) with Chris Hartenstein, who shot even par today, Paterson started with 32 on the front nine and added a one under 35 on the back.
Jordon Sanders and Tyler Gammill are one shot back at four under par. Playing at Lions Municipal, Sanders shot 34-33 while Gammill shot 37-30.
Hagen Fell and Joe Beck III recorded 68. Beck played at Lions and Fell was at Morris Williams.
The field will be cut to the low 72 and ties after Friday’s round. There will be a cut party and skills challenge at Lions starting at 6:00 pm Friday.
