Jay And Peach Reynolds Lead Bluebonnet Cup

jay and peachJay Reynolds, who recently regained his amateur status and has begun playing local amateur golf, shot six under par 66 to lead the Bluebonnet Cup after the first round of play.  Peach Reynolds, Jay’ father, posted 67 and is hot on Jay’s tail.   Jay has recently commented on his competitive goals and has been heard to say “I just want to beat Peach”.

Peach (on the right in photo above) and Jay have a great golfing relationship and have been known to caddy for each other in tournaments.  That’s not going to happen in the Bluebonnet Cup.  Peach, who recently played in the Senior British Amateur, is always supportive of Jay, but they will each be doing their best to win the tournament.

Several other players broke bar including Chris Benestante, Kevin Taylor and Tim Mitchell among others.

The golf course has plenty of grass on the fairways and the greens are excellent.  Although it was windy, the scoring conditions were good for players in control of their golf ball.

Starting times for Saturday’s round are available at Austin Amateur Golf.
