Austin’s Kristen Gillman, who recently won the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, is currently playing in the Evian Masters in France. The Evian Masters is the fifth and final major of the season on the LPGA tour. The 16 year old Lake Travis student is the youngest player in the field. Follow her progress on the leaderboard at this link.
Gillman’s travel schedule has certainly changed as a result of winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She recently played in the Women’s World Team Amateur Championship in Japan, is now in France playing in the Evian Masters, and will soon be playing in the Junior Ryder Cup Championship in Perthshire, Scotland.
Gillman has also earned a spot in several more prestigious events including; the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Miarage, California April 2-5, and the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco April 25-27.
When she returns from afar, she will be playing High School Golf for Lake Travis. I’m sure she will be glad to return to Austin and spend some time with friends and teammates.
