Cooper Dossey of Austin has earned a spot on the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Team. Dossey plays for Vandergrift High School and had an excellent season over the last school year and during this summer, resulted in several golfing honors. Among those honors is a place on the Junior All-Star Series Team.
Specifically designed for boys and girls ages 12-15, the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series events presents opportunities for younger players to develop their skills and earn entry into AJGA Open tournaments.
The team was selected based on the Polo Golf Rankings, and a player had to have competed in at least one Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series event in 2014 in order to be eligible. The team of 10 boys and 10 girls will be honored Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Junior All-Star Invitational sponsored by NIKEGOLF in North Plains, Oregon.
On the team is Cooper Dossey of Austin, Texas, who made his first Wyndham Cup appearance as a member of the West Team. Dossey’s AJGA season started at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior All-Star and included three top-10 finishes. He captured his first victory at the Goodman Networks Junior at Traditions and placed eighth at the Thunderbird International Junior en route to the No. 17 spot in the Polo Golf Rankings.
