With an 8-6 lead headed into the singles matches, the professional team won the singles matches 8 1/2 to 5 1/2 and secured the Hannon Cup Trophy by a winning margin of five points, 16 1/2 to 11 1/2.
The victory gives the professionals nine victories and the amateurs nine victories over the 18 year history of the matches. The captain of the professionals, Rick Arnett, and the team members posed for a photo the trophy after their victory.

Great Hills Country Club hosted the event and are to be congratulated on the condition of their course, the excellent service provided by all the staff and the support of the membership, who provided help with scoreboards and assisting players.
There were quite a few members watching the matches and supporting club members who played on both the professional and amateur teams. Keith Moreland, who was the guest speaker at the opening ceremonies on Sunday night, spent several hours in the company of professional team captain Rick Arnett as they watched the play and kept up with the state of the matches. Moreland, who played baseball for UT and spent over a decade playing professional baseball, is a low handicap golfer and said he really enjoyed watching the matches.
Coach Hannon, still going strong in his 90’s, was on hand to thank the players for participating and encourage people to get involved in the Hannon Cup Association, which supports junior golf, provides scholarships and hosts the George Hannon Junior Invitational.
