Lester Lundell, pictured here in the center, has been a respected and loved member of the Austin golfing community for decades. He is undergoing a liver transplant in San Antonio on December 31, 2014. Lundell, who has suffered from cirrhosis of the liver for some time, commented on December 26th when this photo was taken that he was uncertain he would receive a transplant. He said he might get a call for a transplant in two hours, two days, two weeks, two months or two years. Turns out it was closer to two days.
The procedure can last from five to 10 hours and if successful can extend the patients life for years. We pray all goes well and Lester is returned to good health.
