Matthew Perrine shot even par for 54 holes and finished tied for ninth place in the Texas Amateur Golf Tournament held at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas. He was the low scorer from the Austin Area.  In total, five Austin area players made the cut at the Texas Amateur.  Three are college players and two are mid amateurs.

One shot behind Perrine, at one over par were Stratton Nolen and Steve Paterson.  Nolen plays for Oklahoma State and Paterson is a mid-amateur that works in the High Tech Industry.

Paterson and his wife Merideth celebrated their first Fathers day yesterday with their daughter. Congratulations on that.

Jordan Sanders, who will be playing college golf at Texas Tech starting in the fall, finished 23rd at three over par followed by Cooper Dossey in 32nd at six over par.

Brian Noonan, a three time Austin Men’s City Champion, finished at seven over par in 38th place.

Michael Cotton, who plays for North Texas State, shot 29 on the final nine holes, played the last ten holes in eight under par and won the tournament by three shots after posting a three day total of nine under.

Congratulations to all the Austin area players that qualified for and played in the Texas Amateur.
