Meet 8 year old golfer Emma Maldonado. Emma is not only enjoying golf at a young age but she is competing at a high level.
After winning her age division in three City of Austin junior events this summer, Emma has qualified for the U.S. Kids World Championship at the famed Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina later this month. She and parents will be traveling to North Carolina by car beginning this Sunday. The competition will host over 165 junior golfers under the age of 12 from all over the world.
Her favorite golfers are Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth. Emma has lofty goals but is mainly excited about this trip of a lifetime. Good luck Emma, you will represent The City of Austin well!
