Drew Bell Captures Central Texas Amateur by Three Shots

Drew Bell added a 74 to an opening round 72 = 146, to win the Central Texas Amateur Championship at Forrest Creek Golf Course by three shots.  Gregg McGibney finished second after rounds of 75-74=149.

Five players finished at 150, including Michael Carnes, John Parez, Andrew Carreon, and Paul Moore.  Moore's second round even par 72 was the low round of the day, marking the second day that only one player in the field equaled even par for the day.

The Forrest Creek Golf Course showed it's teeth over the weekend in combination with the 100 degree plus heat and high winds the first day of play.  Scoring was difficult and required good ball striking all the way around the course.

The tournament was well run and congratuations are due to all the staff at Forrest Creek.
